Project - Scenery to Dolores Engine Yard
The Dolores engine servicing facilities have received scenery and the section is mostly complete! Plaster was used for roads and landscaping, new paint was applied, and dirt and rock details were added to match the appearance of SW Colorado. Ballast was applied to the tracks along with greenery. The module is really coming together!

Project - Additions to Engine Servicing Yard
The Dolores engine servicing facilities have been receiving some needed attention in order to prepare this module for scenery. Some additions include new radial tracks around the turntable, another siding for the large 2 diesel consist used for the coal train, and a fueling dock for the diesels. Lighting is also being added to some of the yard buildings including the work shop and roundhouse.

Project - Yard Power Control
​Recently work has been done to our layout's yard so individual yard tracks can be powered on or off. This allows for less amps to be drawn on the layout. In the yard there are usually many locomotives at rest and even a DCC sound locomotive draws amperage therefore with too many of them the system can be overpowered. Switches with lights were placed on the side-panels of the yard modules to add the ability to turn off or on specific tracks and corresponding LEDs were placed at the end of the yard tracks to indicate which track is currently being powered.

Recently Hayden was able to install the new SoundTraxx Tsunami 2 Big Steam decoder into his Athearn Big Boy & Challenger.

Project - Rebuild Layout Modules
As a club we recently finished the addition of the town of Cortez to our layout. This section used to be one of our club member's until he passed away. In honor of him we built a new, larger section and we were able to recycle some of his original buildings into this new set of modules. The outcome is a wonderful looking town, new industries and a depot, and even a tunnel leading to other new modules containing a coal power plant.
